Poisons and Remedies of Amazonia is an account of my conversations on the ancestral use of poisons and medicinal herbs with Masheñ Chomoch and some members of the native Ashaninka-Yanesha ‘San Jeronimo’ Community in Puerto Yurinaki, in the Selva Central of the Peruvian Amazon. The book can be read as a mini-story immersed in indigenous botany.

The book is in no way to be considered a medical handbook but rather a mini-compendium of curiosities on some of the ancient remedies used by the Ashaninka and Yanesha of this area that can serve as a guide for your research.

«Venenos y Remedios Amazónicos» es un relato de mis conversaciones con Masheñ Chomoch y los miembros de la Comunidad nativa Ashaninka-Yanesha ‘San Jerónimo’ en Puerto Yurinaki, en la Selva Central de la Amazonía peruana sobre las hierbas medicinales y su conocimiento ancestral.

El libro es un pequeño cuento inmerso en la botánica indígena y consta de unos capítulos enriquecidos con numerosas fotografías, mientras que la versión interactiva contiene también vídeos en profundidad. Este libro no debe considerarse en modo alguno un manual médico, sino más bien una compilación de curiosidades sobre algunos de los remedios ancestrales utilizados por los indígenas Ashaninka y Yanesha de esta zona que puede servir de guía para su investigación.

También «MAGUARÉ: Ritmos ancestrales de la Amazonía» es parte del proyecto «My Indigenous Roots», mis raíces indígenas, desarrollado por Angelo Giammarresi director, escritor y etnógrafo visual, con el objetivo de preservar las tradiciones orales ancestrales de los pueblos indígenas del Perú y del mundo.
