Viaggiando in Finlandia a metà Agosto oltre che gli splendidi tramonti ci può riservare delle belle sorprese come la magica atmosfera del Luosto Classic.
Mi trovai a Luosto poco prima che si tenesse l’evento ma ho avuto il piacere di incontrare il famoso panista finlandese Martti Rautio che stava esercitandosi proprio nel mio stesso hotel, il Santa’s Hotel Aurora. Così, gli chiesi se potesse permettermi di filmarlo per le mie attività promozionali ed eccovi Martti Rautio che esegue Fredrick Chopin Mazurka in B Minor Op.33 No.4
Martti Rautio – In the space of 30 years, Martti Rautio has given more than a thousand concerts, nowadays at a rate of about 50 a year. His concert tours have taken him all over Europe and, for example, to Japan. At home in Finland he has been the soloist with many orchestras, such as the Finnish Radio Symphony, the Helsinki Philharmonic and the Tapiola Sinfonietta.
Martti Rautio has performed a large volume of contemporary music and premiered works dedicated to him by Einar Englund, Einojuhani Rautavaara and others. He has recorded widely for the Finnish Broadcasting Company (Yle) and released discs on the Fuga, Finlandia and Festivo Records labels. In 1999, he founded the Kemiönsaari Music Festival with violinist Katinka Korkeala and was its Artistic Director for nine years.
A former pupil of Izumi Tateno at the Sibelius Academy, Martti Rautio is now a lecturer there in chamber music.
