The Sámediggi – The Sami Parliament is the elected assembly of the Sámi people. The Parliament was opened on 9 October 1989 in the village of Kárášjohka (Karasjok), in Kárášjohka Municipality in Finnmark county.   It currently has 39 representatives, who are elected every four years and the last election was in 2013.
